Job summary

The successful candidate will also develop and maintain database-related components, APIs, and data services, collaborating with developers and IT teams to ensure reliable and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• 2-3 years in Database Administration or related field; fresh graduates encouraged.
• Experience with MS SQL Server, backups, DR, security, and performance.
• Ability to develop SQL objects, APIs, and data services.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases for high availability and security.
• Perform backups, restoration, disaster recovery, health checks, and routine maintenance.
• Monitor performance; optimize queries, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Plan upgrades, migrations, deployments, and capacity planning.
• Develop SQL scripts, stored procedures, views, functions, and other DB objects.
• Collaborate with software developers and IT teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Document procedures and participate in incident resolution.

We are seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) cum Software Developer to support manufacturing systems and enterprise applications. This role is primarily responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and performance of Microsoft SQL Server databases that support business-critical applications.

In addition to database administration, the successful candidate will provide technical support for internal applications by developing and maintaining database-related components, SQL objects, APIs, and common data services to support business requirements and system integration.

The ideal candidate should possess strong database administration skills, good programming fundamentals, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure high availability, performance, security, and reliability.

Perform database backup, restoration, disaster recovery, health checks, and routine maintenance activities.

Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and stored procedures.

Plan and support database upgrades, migrations, deployments, and capacity planning.

Manage database security, user access, permissions, and auditing in accordance with IT policies.

Develop and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, views, functions, and other database objects to support business applications.

Support the development and maintenance of common data services, APIs, and database-related application components.

Assist in troubleshooting and resolving application issues related to database connectivity, data processing, and system integration.

Collaborate with software developers, infrastructure teams, and business users to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Prepare and maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and technical documentation.

Participate in production support, incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Provide technical guidance on database best practices, data integrity, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience

Prefer minimum 2-3 years of experiences in Database Administration, Software Development, or a related field.

Fresh graduates with strong SQL/database fundamentals and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
