Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE.
• 5+ years in software development in enterprise data ops, analytics or reporting.
• Proficiency in at least one OO language (C#, Java, Python, C++).
• Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Strong relational DB knowledge and SQL queries.
• Hands-on experience building Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Experience with Critical Manufacturing MES is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in full SDLC in an agile environment; translate requirements into technical specs.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Developer Specialist to join our innovative team at Jabil, Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying robust and scalable software solutions that support our site manufacturing operations and business objectives. You will work within an agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works with functional managers and sector leads to establish and maintain technical standards and guidelines for their area.
• Act as SME for decisions into application development platforms and tools.
• Design, develop, and maintain software applications using various programming languages and technologies, adhering to established coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Conduct thorough integration, and system testing to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of developed software.
• Troubleshoot and debug software defects, providing timely and effective resolutions. Acts as an escalation for technical issues and support.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools.
• Performs as a mentor to regional and site resources on process and techniques to assure proficiency within the team.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to architectural guidelines.
• Document technical designs, specifications, and user manuals.
• Performs and or supports other duties and responsibilities of team members as required.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, working with data operations, analytics, or reporting in an enterprise environment.
• Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., C#, Java, Python, C++).
• Experience with front-end development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and experience with SQL queries.
• Hands-on experience building or supporting Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Experience with Critical Manufacturing MES is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes or supply chain management is a plus.
• Interest in AI and emerging technologies, with a willingness to explore practical applications in analytics and operations (RPA, etc).
