Job summary

Spencer Ogden in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business opportunities within the Data Centre and Semiconductor sectors across Malaysia, with a focus on new installations and project wins.

You will work closely with clients, developers and engineering teams to develop proposals and commercial strategies, build a strong pipeline and travel across the country as required to secure upcoming projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant Business Development, Sales or Commercial experience.
• Mandatory experience in the Semiconductor and/or Data Centre sectors.
• Proven track record in new business development, client acquisition and securing projects.
• Strong network and understanding of the Malaysian Data Centre and Semiconductor market.
• Experience within engineering, construction, EPC, MEP or technical solutions would be advantageous.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially driven with the ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
• Willingness to travel across Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Lead new business development and client acquisition across Malaysia.
• Identify, develop and secure new opportunities within the Data Centre and Semiconductor sectors.
• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of upcoming Data Centre and Semiconductor projects.
• Drive business development for new installations, new builds and upcoming Data Centre projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, consultants, contractors and other key stakeholders.
• Conduct market research and identify emerging opportunities within the Malaysian market.
• Develop proposals, commercial strategies and business development plans to secure new projects.
• Manage the business development process from initial engagement through to project award.
• Represent the company in client meetings, industry events and business development activities.
• Travel across Malaysia as required to meet clients and develop new business opportunities.
• Work closely with internal technical, engineering and commercial teams to ensure successful project pursuits.
