Job summary

TimesConsult in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Engineer (HVAC/ELV) to maintain data centre facilities.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years of relevant M&E experience, with preventive and corrective maintenance and strong troubleshooting skills.

You will work independently or with a team, be on standby/on-call including weekends/public holidays, and contribute to reliable operation of critical systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in M&E, facilities, maintenance or data centre environments.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC and cooling systems.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive, proactive and willing to learn.
• Willing to work standby/on-call, weekends and public holidays when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for M&E systems and equipment in data centres.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, HVAC and cooling systems.
• Carry out maintenance for UPS and electrical systems, genset, LV/HT systems, CRAC and air-conditioning units, cooling systems.
• Support power shutdowns, load testing, load migration and TNB power outages.
• Install, test and commission M&E equipment and systems.
• Assist with thermal scanning, grounding measurement and power audits.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and provide technical support when required.
• Prepare maintenance records and service reports.
• Work with the technical team to ensure smooth and reliable operation of data centre facilities.
• Perform other duties assigned by the management.
