Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Property Consultants Pte Ltd is seeking an Engineer to apply practical technical knowledge to day-to-day facilities management, maintenance of building assets, and critical environments such as data centres. You will oversee plant, mechanical and electrical systems, coordinate remedial action during incidents, and supervise multi-skilled maintenance partners.

The role focuses on preventive and reactive maintenance, safety inspections, and compliance with government regulations

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, electrical or operational engineering.
• 3–4 years of relevant engineering experience.
• 1–2 years operating electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centre.
• Experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to ensure staff and vendors comply with policies.

• Conduct facilities inspections for compliance with regulations and client/JLL standards.

• Facilitate training of Technical Operations staff to ensure service delivery.

• Respond to emergencies involving facilities/equipment/machinery.
• May lead operations teams and contribute to people management decisions.

Job description

The Engineer applies practical technical knowledge learned through experience and training in executing day-to-day technical facilities management operations and maintenance related to building assets. This includes infrastructure, equipment, machinery and interior/exterior building elements. To achieve excellence in preventative and reactive maintenance programs incorporating industry best practice, innovative maintenance techniques and statutory and contractual compliance. Undertake the day-to-day management and control of all plant, mechanical and electrical systems and co-ordinate the remedial action in the event of critical incidents. To provide supervision to multi skilled engineering maintenance partners.

Key responsibilities

Operate, trouble shoot, repair, and improve functioning/availability of machinery, equipment and building infrastructure

Execute and/or supervise preventive and reactive maintenance work

Conduct facilities/equipment/machinery/safety inspections for compliance with government regulations and established client/JLL standards

Provide input to and manage expenditures within operating budgets

Develop, adapt and follow procedures, practices and processes to ensure highest level of client service delivery and client satisfaction

Foster positive day-to-day interactions with clients/customers, and other stakeholders (e.g. vendors/suppliers)

Facilitate training of Technical Operations employees to ensure consistent level of service delivery and to ensure compliance with applicable government laws and regulations

Identify, assess and control risks (i.e. safety, environmental, operational)

Respond to emergency situations in relation to facilities/equipment/machinery, ensuring all appropriate internal and external emergency services resources are employed

May lead operations team(s), oversee their activities and provide input to people management decisions

About you

Degree Qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or operational engineering discipline

3 - 4 years of relevant experience in engineering or critical environment space

1 – 2 years' experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centre or critical facility

Critical environment experience within similar sized site or operation

Experienced with continuous improvement initiatives and preparation of reports

Ensure that all staff and vendors employed within the client's facilities strictly adhere to client and JLL's policies and procedures
