Job summary

PMX Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a leading data centre solutions provider, seeks a Commercial & Contracts Executive to drive pre- and post-contract cost management across complex data centre projects. You will prepare cost plans, BOQs, tender docs, and LOAs, while administering contracts and evaluating VO and claims.

You will monitor costs, perform risk analysis, support value engineering, and collaborate with procurement, PMs, engineers, and suppliers to optimize commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in quantity surveying and cost management. Experience in data centre, industrial, or large-scale construction projects will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge and experience in MEP systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, ELV, and associated works, is added advantage.
• Good analytical, negotiation, and commercial skills with good attention to detail.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, cost plans, budgets, and cost analysis to support project planning and decision-making.
• Support tender management activities including tender preparation, evaluation, analysis, and recommendation.
• Prepare tender documentation including BOQ, specifications, tender reports, and pre-contract correspondences.
• Administer contracts including preparation of LOA, contract documents, and related commercial documentation.
• Review, evaluate, and process variation orders, contractor claims, progress payments, and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and cash flow to ensure alignment with approved financial targets.
• Identify cost risks, provide mitigation strategies, and support value engineering initiatives.
• Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and financial updates for management review.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization, value engineering, and improvement of cost management processes.
• Collaborate with procurement teams on supplier sourcing, pricing evaluation, and commercial negotiations.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Consultants, and Contractors to optimize project costs and commercial outcomes.
