Job summary

RecruitFirst Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced data center operations lead to oversee day-to-day facility activities and coordinate an engineering team. You will ensure power, cooling, and network systems operate reliably, while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on troubleshooting, and the ability to manage preventive maintenance and incident responses across critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant data center operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the data center during assigned shifts.
• Ensure the proper functioning of critical systems such as power, cooling, network infrastructure, and security.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor performance of servers, storage, and network components to identify issues.
• Respond to and escalate operational issues or alarms promptly to minimize downtime.
• Supervise and coordinate the engineering team, ensuring safety guidelines and procedures are followed.
• Assign tasks to team members with adequate coverage for all critical systems.
• Provide training and guidance to junior staff on procedures, troubleshooting, and safety.
• Serve as first point of contact for engineers during emergencies.
• Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance on critical infrastructure (HVAC, generators, UPS).
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues or coordinate with vendors.
• Ensure backup systems and disaster recovery processes are in place and functioning.
• Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for future reference.
• Act as escalation point for significant incidents or emergencies during shifts.
• Lead emergency response procedures for outages, cooling failures, network disruptions, and security breaches.
• Investigate incidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Maintain compliance with ISO, SOC 2 and industry standards; implement security controls.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and reviews to maintain certifications.
• Prepare shift, incident, and performance reports for senior management.
• Maintain logs of maintenance activities and system failures for record-keeping.
