The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years in data center operations or similar environments, hands-on maintenance, and strong knowledge of UPS, switchgear, generators, cooling, and BMS.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in data center operations or related environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, UPS, generators, and cooling systems.
• Hands-on maintenance and shift-based operations.
• Ability to lead a team under rotating shifts and perform under pressure.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift operations and maintenance activities for electrical and mechanical systems in the data center.
• Supervise and guide shift engineers and technicians to ensure reliable facility performance.
• Perform hands-on operation, inspection, and maintenance of critical systems such as HV/LV switchgear, UPS, generators, cooling systems, and BMS.
• Monitor and control equipment status through the Monitoring Center (NOC) and ensure timely response to alarms or incidents.
• Review and execute Change Control Applications, ensuring adherence to SOP and safety compliance.
• Support and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Identify safety risks and ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain records, reports, and documentation in accordance with ISO and company standards.

Job description

We are seeking an Electrical Shift Lead to oversee operations and maintenance of critical data center infrastructure. The role ensures 100% facility uptime by leading a team of shift engineers and technicians to manage power and environmental systems safely, efficiently, and in compliance with operational standards.

Candidates who do not meet the required experience level for this position may be considered for the Shift Engineer role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead shift operations and maintenance activities for electrical and mechanical systems in the data center.
• Supervise and guide shift engineers and technicians to ensure reliable facility performance.
• Perform hands‑on operation, inspection, and maintenance of critical systems such as HV/LV switchgear, UPS, generators, cooling systems, and BMS.
• Monitor and control equipment status through the Monitoring Center (NOC) and ensure timely response to alarms or incidents.
• Review and execute Change Control Applications, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and safety compliance.
• Support and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in data center operations, semiconductor, power plant, or critical facility environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, UPS, generators, and cooling systems.
• Hands‑on experience in preventive/corrective maintenance and shift‑based operations.
• Able to lead a team under rotating shifts and perform under pressure.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Must be willing to work in Ulu Tiram, Johor.
