Job summary

Open DC in Malaysia seeks a Facilities Operations Lead to manage the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical data center facilities. You will supervise the operations team to meet SLAs and project targets, driving improvements in performance and energy efficiency.

You will oversee preventive maintenance, risk management, and incident response, while ensuring adherence to SOPs and safety standards. Proficiency in English and Mandarin is essential for stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant data center or critical facility operations experience.
• Prior supervisory or management experience is an added advantage.
• Solid understanding of data center critical systems (electrical distribution, UPS, generators, cooling).
• Excellent communication with English and Mandarin for day-to-day coordination.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of critical data center facilities and infrastructure.
• Lead and supervise the facilities operations team to ensure operational targets, SLAs, and project requirements are met.
• Drive continuous improvement in data center performance, operational efficiency, and energy utilization, including improvements to PUE.
• Manage daily team activities: workforce planning, task allocation, shift scheduling, risk assessment, incident handling, and staff performance.
• Establish and maintain SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and operational training materials for standardized execution.
• Plan and oversee preventive maintenance, training, emergency programs, and drills to sustain readiness.
• Evaluate and authorize facility-related changes, maintenance, incidents, and emergency actions with proper risk controls.
• Ensure operations comply with company policies, safety practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, contractors, and service providers to coordinate activities and maintain service continuity.
