Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a data center technician to join our on-site team in Penang. You will perform rack & stack installations, manage fiber and copper cabling, and support hardware replacement and deployments. This role requires hands-on experience in data center environments and the ability to follow remote engineer guidance.

The position involves shift work or on-call rotations, strong teamwork and a customer-focused attitude to meet SLA-driven demands.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in Data Center / Infrastructure / IT Support role
• Hands-on experience in server or network equipment installation
• Experience with fiber and copper cabling
• Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, VLAN, switch ports)
• Experience working with ticketing systems (ServiceNow)
• Knowledge of storage and virtualization basics would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Perform rack & stack installation of servers, switches, and storage equipment
• Install and manage fiber and copper cabling (RJ45, LC, SC connectors)
• Handle server landing and configuration support
• Perform decommissioning as required
• Conduct hardware replacements (disk, PSU, cables, modules)
• Support incident and troubleshooting for server/hardware outages
• Execute cabling requests and connectivity changes
• Data Center maintenance and asset documentation
• Update asset tracking and ensure proper labeling and inventory segregation
• Maintain data center cleanliness and kabel management
