Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a technically adept professional for a 6-month renewable contract in Johor. You will handle 2nd level support, maintain server hardware and software, and drive quick resolutions in a 24/7 data centre setting.

The role requires strong Linux expertise, data centre experience, and ability to manage on-call duties, with opportunities to engage in standardization projects across hardware and software stacks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Understand internal customer problems and provide timely technical solutions.
• Assess customer urgency and sensitivity of issues; communicate clearly.
• Provide 2nd level escalated support and coordinate with internal teams/vendors.
• Assist with server OS and application upgrades, patches and fixes.
• Replace failed hardware components and troubleshoot network connectivity.
• Work on standardization projects for hardware/software under Oracle tech stack.

Contract: 6 months (renewable) | 24/7 rotational shift | Johor

Responsibilities:

• Ability to understand internal customer problems and provide technical solutions in a timely manner.
• Ability to understand customer urgency and sensitivity of a problem.
• Ability to speak confidently and communicate clearly with internal customers.
• Ability to work well within a demanding customer environment and delight customers.
• Strong Adherence to Process and be a process champion.
• Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware, and software.
• Provides escalated 2nd level technical support for complex technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status.
• Manages escalated support cases and leads appropriate internal technical resources and/or 3rd party vendors to resolution.
• Assist with server operating system and application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching
• Perform replacements of failed components such as hard drives/ DIMMs etc.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues
• Replace AOC, QSFP, MPO, and Cat6 cables.
• Troubleshoot basic switch issues and replace switches
• Working on standardization projects for both hardware and software under the Oracle technology stack; while providing consistent system uptime as expected in an IaaS environment.

Ideal candidates need to be familiar with the following:

• Strong background in Linux
• Previous experience working in a Data Centre environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment).
• Solid foundation of experience supporting servers, storage and networking technology
• Responsible for a shift in a 24/7/365 working environment including on-call rostered basis shift
• Solid knowledge of Data Centre Ecosystem (cooling, electrical, networking, and structured cabling)
• Performance Management/Troubleshooting
