Job summary

Exyte Malaysia seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical systems for mission-critical data centers in Sepang. You will ensure systems meet reliability and safety requirements while aligning with project specs and codes, coordinating with multiple disciplines and vendors.

The role emphasizes cooling system design, redundancy, load calculations, and collaboration with controls to integrate HVAC with BMS.

Qualifications

• Experience leading mechanical design for data center infrastructure.
• Proficiency in cooling load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Familiarity with N+1/2N redundancy and uptime requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of mechanical systems for data center infrastructure.
• Ensure cooling systems meet redundancy, resiliency, and uptime targets.
• Perform cooling load calculations and hydraulic analysis.
• Develop design deliverables: reports, calculations, schematics, layouts.
• Prepare specifications aligned with performance requirements.
• Coordinate with electrical, controls, structural, and civil teams.
• Work with controls engineers for HVAC-BMS integration.
• Participate in design reviews, VE, constructability reviews.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and data center best practices.
• Manage deliverables across concept to construction documentation.
• Support fast-track execution and resolve technical issues.
• Review vendor submittals and equipment selections.
• Provide tech support to procurement and construction.
• Ensure reliability and maintainability of designs.
• Identify design risks and propose mitigations.
• Maintain quality assurance and safety in engineering deliverables.
