Job summary

SuperX is seeking a Data Center Facilities Technician/Engineer to operate, monitor, and maintain critical data center infrastructure in Malaysia. You will ensure reliable electrical distribution, UPS operation, and control system performance while supporting commissioning and integration of new equipment.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in electrical distribution maintenance or related engineering environments, with knowledge of data center components and diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related engineering field is preferred.
• Experience with data center electrical infrastructure is advantageous.
• Ability to review blueprints, schematics, and sequences of operation.
• Familiarity with testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostic tools.
• Experience in data centers, hospitals, or power plants is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain data center systems to ensure uptime.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical distribution and control systems.
• Provide daily support reviewing blueprints and sequences of operation.
• Manage UPS, generators, switchgear, ATS/STS, and PDUs/PMMs.
• Coordinate with contractors for installation and maintenance activities.

Job description

As a Data Center Facilities Technician / Engineer, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, maintaining, and supporting critical data center facilities infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring the reliable operation of electrical and mechanical systems that support data center operations.

Key responsibilities

Guide, inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems.

Provide daily support to technicians by reviewing blueprints, schematics, and sequences of operation, conducting system tours, and assessing equipment performance.

Manage the uptime and maintenance of UPS systems, generators, electrical distribution systems, and control and monitoring systems.

Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions affecting data center facilities systems and equipment.

Support the startup, commissioning, and integration of new electrical equipment and systems into the facility infrastructure.

Communicate and coordinate with contractors performing installation and maintenance work on data center systems.

About you

At least 1 year of experience in electrical distribution system maintenance, or construction, technical, or related engineering environments.

Knowledge of data center electrical infrastructure, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, and PDU/PMM units.

Experience using testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostic tools, including electrical meters, sensors and monitoring devices, digital metering equipment, and calibration and diagnostic equipment.

Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline (preferred).

Experience working in data centers, hospitals, or power plants (preferred).
