Job summary

Farben is seeking an experienced Data Center Operations Manager in Kuala Lumpur to oversee IDC MEP infrastructure operation, maintenance and risk management. You will manage critical data center infrastructure, coordinate change control, preventive maintenance, and incident response, and lead projects to improve capacity, energy efficiency and reliability.

You will collaborate with procurement and COLO providers, support IT project delivery, and help design and commission new data center spaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Over 3 years of experience managing or operating critical infrastructure in large data centers, or over 5 years in large-scale facility management.
• Hands-on experience with MEP equipment including UPS, generators, chillers, pumps, and cooling towers.
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to a safe, efficient workplace.
• Proficient in written and spoken English or Malay.
• Detail-oriented with strong risk identification and problem-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational management of critical data center infrastructure.
• Oversee change management, emergency fault response, and preventive maintenance tracking for key systems.
• Manage the capacity of data center infrastructure systems, including power distribution and cooling systems.
• Monitor and mitigate availability risks of infrastructure systems, driving problem resolution and closure.
• Lead and implement projects aimed at improving capacity, energy efficiency, and reliability of existing facility systems.
• Support the IT Manager in projects and day-to-day operations.
• Assist in the design, construction, and commissioning of new data center sites or server rooms.
• Establish and maintain relationships with data center COLO providers; manage critical electrical and mechanical systems and drive continuous improvements.
