Job summary

JLL is seeking a Data Center Facility Manager in Malaysia to lead day-to-day operations of critical data center infrastructure, ensuring uptime, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. You will oversee power, cooling, fire safety, security, and BMS while managing on-site teams and vendors.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 5–7 years in data center facilities, including 3 years in supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in data center or mission-critical facility management.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.

Responsibilities

• Operations Management: Oversee data center facility operations including power, cooling, fire suppression, security, and BMS; target 99.99%+ uptime.
• Critical Infrastructure Oversight: Manage electrical systems (UPS, generators, PDUs) and HVAC, environmental controls, fire/detection, and access systems.
• Team Leadership: Lead technicians, engineers and support staff; set schedules and conduct evaluations; provide safety training.
• Vendor and Contract Management: Manage vendor relations, contracts, SLAs; coordinate with third-party technicians for repairs and upgrades.
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with electrical codes, fire safety, env regs; maintain maintenance records and CMDB alignment.
• Budget and Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, track expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Emergency Response: Develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans; lead drills and on-call readiness.
