Job summary

Advange Group in Malaysia is seeking a Data center and hardware/Infrastructure Support engineer (Mandarin speaking essential). The role covers day-to-day reliability of enterprise IT infrastructure across data centers and customer environments, with hands-on tasks and service coordination.

You will perform rack-and-stack, device swaps, vendor coordination, and follow established processes, contributing to knowledge bases and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in IT, Engineering, CS, or equivalent.
• 1–2 years in infrastructure support, systems operations, or technical services.
• Mandarin speaking is essential.
• Willingness to work on customer or data center premises.

Responsibilities

• Observe and analyze infrastructure performance, escalating as needed.
• Deliver first- and second-line support for compute, network, and connectivity issues.
• Perform rack-and-stack, swaps, decommissioning, and cabling tasks.
• Coordinate with maintenance providers and vendors for on-site repairs.
• Conduct routine infrastructure walk-throughs and preventive checks.
• Process operational requests and incidents via the service management platform.
• Track incidents to root cause and closure; update knowledge bases.
• Contribute to service reports and SOP improvements.
• Support team readiness initiatives and additional operational tasks.

Role Overview

This role supports the day-to-day reliability and availability of enterprise IT infrastructure across data center and customer environments. The position involves hands-on technical work, operational coordination, and continuous improvement of support processes.

Key Accountabilities

• Observe and analyze infrastructure performance, identifying irregular system behavior and triggering escalation when needed
• Deliver first-line and second-line technical assistance for compute, network, and connectivity issues across CPU and GPU systems
• Execute physical infrastructure tasks including rack-and-stack, component swaps, device decommissioning, and cabling work
• Coordinate with external maintenance providers and hardware vendors to schedule repairs and on-site technical interventions
• Perform routine infrastructure walk-throughs, equipment validation, and preventive checks at operational sites
• Receive, prioritize, and process operational requests and incidents through the service management platform
• Track incidents end-to-end, ensuring permanent resolution, proper root-cause recording, and closure compliance
• Contribute to service reports, operational documentation, and internal knowledge repositories
• Assist in refining operational workflows, standard operating procedures, and team readiness initiatives
• Support departmental activities and handle additional operational assignments as required

Candidate Profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s qualification in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent discipline
• Early-career experience (approximately 1–2 years) in infrastructure support, systems operations, or technical services
• Keen interest in enterprise infrastructure, data center operations, and large-scale IT environments
• Willingness to work on customer or data center premises, including rotational or shift-based schedules
• Self-motivated team contributor with a practical, hands-on mindset
• Able to diagnose issues logically and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable managing tasks independently while following established procedures
• Fresh graduates with relevant internships or lab exposure are encouraged to apply
• Exposure to monitoring tools, service desks, or ITSM platforms is beneficial but not mandatory
• Mandarin Speaking is essential.
