Randstad Malaysia is partnering with a reputable MNC in the manufacturing and automation industry to hire a senior Data Scientist. You will lead Advanced Analytics & Modeling projects, driving business insights and product strategy with GenAI capabilities.

In this role, you build and optimize cloud data pipelines on Azure or AWS, write production-grade Python, and collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and stakeholders to translate complex problems into AI-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, or analytics.
• Proficiency in Python with Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn.
• Experience with Azure or AWS cloud suites and OpenAI/LLMs.
• Excellent SQL for large relational datasets.
• Strong communication to translate AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

key responsibilities:

• Advanced Analytics & Modeling: Lead complex data analysis projects, extracting actionable business intelligence from diverse datasets to support executive decision-making and product strategy.
• GenAI & LLM Integration: Design, test, and implement Generative AI and LLM-driven workflows (e.g., Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, text summarization, and sentiment analysis) to automate data interpretation and enhance analytical capabilities.
• Cloud Data Infrastructure: Build and manage data processing pipelines and analytical architectures utilizing Microsoft (Azure) or AWS cloud ecosystems.
• Python Development: Write robust, production-ready Python code to automate data extraction, transformation, and AI model integration.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders to translate complex business problems into scalable, AI-enhanced data solutions.
• Mentorship & Strategy: Serve as the subject matter expert on AI trends and analytics best practices, mentoring junior analysts and guiding the organization’s data strategy.

requirements:

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in data analysis, data science, or a closely related analytics role.
• Programming Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Python and its primary data libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, etc.) for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and scripting.
• Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure OpenAI) OR AWS (e.g., Redshift, S3, SageMaker, Bedrock).
• AI/GenAI Specialization: Proven commercial experience working directly with Artificial Intelligence, specifically Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). Must have familiarity with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic), open-source models (Hugging Face), and application frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex).
• Database Management: Expert-level SQL skills for querying, joining, and manipulating massive relational databases.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to translate highly technical AI and data concepts into clear, actionable business narratives for non-technical stakeholders.

nice to haves:

• Experience building or deploying Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker).
