Job summary

Pegacorn Sdn. Bhd. in Ipoh is seeking a Subway crew member to greet guests, prepare orders, operate the POS, and uphold food safety standards. You will ensure a warm atmosphere, upsell LTO items, and maintain cleanliness across shifts.

The role requires strong customer service, reliability, and the ability to follow Subway procedures, with responsibilities spanning cash handling, inventory, and course completion on the University of Subway.

Qualifications

• Able to hear, read, understand and implement written and verbal instructions.
• Neatly dressed, well-groomed.
• Clean uniform always worn to standards.
• Reaches, bends, stoops and wipes.
• Able to lift - up to 5kg frequently and up to 15kg occasionally.
• Able to hear guest’s orders and needs amid loud background noise.
• Able to verbalize menu items clearly to guests while taking their orders or responding to their requests.
• Able to use Point of Sale system to place orders.
• Able to accurately make cash, QR or credit card transactions and balance the till at the end of shift.
• Able to communicate on Subway Listens platform and invite guests to give service feedback.
• Able to perform bread and carrier inventory at every shift.
• Able to complete product preparation in a safe and timely manner.
• Able to take food temperature accurately, perform corrective actions and keep records.
• Able to work any area of the restaurant when needed.
• Able to pass Sandwich Artist Evaluation.
• Completes assigned courses / curriculum on University of Subway: o Sandwich Artistry 2 o Handling Cash Course o Create Great Together

Responsibilities

• 1. Serves and creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the guests and team members.
• 2. Greets guests and prepares their orders neatly, accurately and in a timely manner. Uses POS to record the order, records payment and makes change.
• 3. Informs guests about Subway Listens and invites them back.
• 4. Understands menu items, explains them accurately, and suggests new products.
• 5. Checks temperature and freshness of foods; restocks as needed.
• 6. Follows food handling, safety and sanitation standards.
• 7. Follows Subway Operations Manual standards.
• 8. Performs cleaning and housekeeping duties as directed.
• 9. Responsible for loss of money, bread, food and beverage during shift due to mishandling.
• 10. Responsible for safety/privacy of assigned Employee ID.
• 11. Handles cash drops and maintains till balance during cashier duty.
• 12. Reports problems to supervisor and takes corrective action.
• 13. Performs duties in line with company policies to achieve objectives.
• 14. Maintains cooperative relationships and morale.
• 15. Works as a team player during busy shifts.
• 16. Provides favorable image of SUBWAY to customers.
• 17. Maintains professional appearance and grooming.
• 18. Performs light paperwork duties as assigned.
• 19. Completes online coursework on the University of SUBWAY.
