HP is seeking a Customer Finance Partner in Malaysia to lead financial governance for contract customers, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, billing, accruals, and margin performance. You will partner with ABMs, CDMs, Market Finance, Legal and Operations to resolve complex contractual issues across regions.

The role requires a strong background in accounting, finance, and commercial finance, with leadership experience and proactive problem solving.

Customer Finance Partner

Description

What a Customer Finance Partner does at HP:

  • Lead financial governance and provide commercial finance support for contractual customers, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, billing, accruals, and margin performance.
  • Partner with business leaders, Account Business Managers (ABMs), Customer Delivery Managers (CDMs), Market Finance, Legal, and Operations to resolve complex contractual and financial issues.
  • Drive revenue recovery and margin improvement initiatives through contractual reviews, pricing corrections, billing remediation, and process improvements.
  • Provide financial leadership for high-value customer accounts, including forecasting, variance analysis, risk assessment, and executive-level financial reporting.
  • Lead investigations and root cause analysis for financial exceptions, revenue leakage, billing disputes, and balance sheet exposures, ensuring sustainable corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including accrual reviews, revenue validation, compliance requirements, and financial controls.
  • Identify automation and process transformation opportunities using tools such as Power BI, SAP, and Microsoft Power Platform to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate across regions and functions to support strategic business initiatives, customer contract transitions, and financial transformation projects.
  • Present financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support business decision-making.
  • Develop and coach finance professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting , Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Commercial Finance, Revenue Management, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Contract Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, month-end close activities, revenue recognition, financial controls, and financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise customers, contractual businesses, leasing models, or managed services environments is preferred.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex financial and operational issues.
  • Experience working with SAP, Power BI, Excel, and financial reporting tools.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders across functions and organisational levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including project leadership, stakeholder management, and team development.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, CIMA, or equivalent certifications are considered an advantage.
  • Business-level proficiency in Mandarin is preferred due to regular interaction with Mandarin-speaking cu stomers, partners, and stakeholders across the Greater China and APJ region.
