Job summary

Toshiba Sales & Services Sdn Bhd is seeking a junior Credit Analyst in Malaysia to support credit risk assessment and collections. The role involves reviewing applications, analyzing reports, and maintaining master data in the ERP system.

You will collaborate with sales and customer service to resolve billing issues and respond to inquiries, while building foundational knowledge in financial statement analysis and ERP tools.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of financial statement analysis (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Proficient in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic financial modeling).
• Familiarity with ERP software (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) is a strong plus.
• Attention to detail in analyzing dense financial data and credit histories.
• Strong communication skills to negotiate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Review credit applications and financial statements to assess risk.
• Analyze credit reports from external bureaus (Dun & Bradstreet, Experian).
• Verify customer backgrounds, reference letters, and bank details.
• Recommend credit limits based on analysis and internal risk models.
• Maintain credit records and update customer master data in the ERP system.
• Track aging accounts to identify overdue payments or high-risk accounts.
• Prepare weekly reports on credit metrics, bad debt provisions, and collection statuses.
• Audit account data to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
• Assist with collections by sending payment reminders and follow-up emails.
• Resolve billing discrepancies by collaborating with sales and customer service teams.
• Handle customer inquiries regarding credit limits, invoices, and payment terms.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

Current student or recent graduate in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.

Basic knowledge of financial statement analysis (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

Technical Skills

Proficient in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic financial modeling).

Familiarity with ERP software (like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) is a strong plus.

Soft Skills

Attention to detail for analyzing dense financial data and credit histories.

Strong communication skills to negotiate politely but firmly with customers.

Problem-solving mindset to investigate disputed invoices or payment issues.
