Job summary

SWASTI AIRCARGO SDN. BHD. is seeking a Specialist in airfreight import and export customs clearance to manage the full cycle from shipment arrangement to delivery, including handling CARNET shipments and perishable goods.

You will maintain strong relationships with customs authorities and ensure compliant documentation. The role requires expertise in HS classification, documentation accuracy, and timely responses to customer and overseas agent inquiries.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in airfreight operations with a focus on import/export and customs clearance.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and HS codes.
• Experience handling CARNET, temporary imports/exports, exhibitions, and perishable goods.
• Excellent relationship management skills with customs authorities and government agencies.
• Attention to detail and proficiency in customs documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work under pressure.
• Good communication skills and proficiency in responding to customer/agent inquiries via email.
• Familiarity with customs software and documentation systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Specialist in airfreight import & export customs clearance incl. handling CARNET shipments, temporary import/export shipments, exhibitions, and perishable shipments.
• Maintain strong relationships with customs authorities and government agencies to ensure smooth clearance processes and resolve issues promptly.
• Accurately classify goods using HS codes to ensure compliance with customs regulations.
• Prepare, review, and submit customs documentation, including import/export declarations, permits, and invoices.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient cargo movement, including responding to customer and overseas agent inquiries via email.
• Assist in negotiating and resolving tariff or clearance disputes, ensuring smooth flow of goods through customs.
• Experience with air import & export procedures from shipment arrangement to delivery/pickup.
• Collaborate with operations to continuously improve efficiency and streamline customs clearance processes.
