Job summary

PROTON Capital Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia seeks experienced professionals for Hire-purchase Approval Operations and Management in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.

You will review applicants, verify vehicle usage and repayment capacity, and make approval decisions per risk policies. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or higher, 5+ years in financial operations, familiarity with East Malaysia markets, and fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Management or related fields.
• 5+ years in financial industry operations management, including 2+ years in hire-purchase approval roles.
• Based in East Malaysia with familiarity of local market and customer profiles.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin or East Malaysia languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Hire-purchase approval operation and management.
• Review customers' eligibility, documents, and repayment capacity; verify information.
• Ensure compliance with risk policies and approval manuals; propose adjustments when needed.
• Front-end communication and training in the hire-purchase approval process.
• Maintain communication with Sales, Marketing, and Risk departments; prepare reports.

Job Description

• Hire-purchase Approval Operation and Management
• Review customers' eligibility and hire-purchase application documents, verify customers' vehicle usage intention, application willingness, repayment capacity and other relevant information via phone calls.
• Be proficient in operating the company's business systems and familiar with approval scripts, ensure compliance with the company’s risk policies and approval work manuals, and make approval decisions. When necessary, promptly put forward approval suggestions to customers or dealers for supplementing materials or adjusting solutions. Prevent fraud, forgery and other irregularities, and make every effort to minimize the company’s losses.
• Front-end Communication and Training in the Hire-purchase Approval Process
• Assist dealers in solving problems and responding to their demands.
• Maintain smooth communication with the Sales & Marketing Department, assist them in training dealers, jointly improve business quality and accelerate the approval process.
• Internal Process Improvement of Hire-purchase Operations
• Put forward improvement suggestions for improving the efficiency and risk control of the hire-purchase approval business process, and maintain full communication with the Risk Management Department.
• Formulate and Update of Hire-purchase Operation & Approval-related regulations
• Hire-purchase Approval Data Reporting and Analysis
• Formulate approval-related management reports, regularly track and analyze existing problems, and propose optimization and solution plans.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above, with priority given to majors in Finance, Economics, Management, or related fields.
• Above 5 years of experience in financial industry operations management, including at least 2 years working in the hire purchase approval department of a bank or auto finance institution.
• Based in East Malaysia and familiarity with the East Malaysia market and local conditions, including customer profiles, income patterns and business practices, to support informed credit assessments.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin or East Malaysia local languages is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills and be able to work independently and coordinate effectively with Head Office.
