Job summary

Standard Language Centre in Malaysia is seeking an Academic Coordinator for English Language Programmes. You will lead curriculum quality, mentor teachers, and design engaging assessments to help students achieve learning goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Education or related field, teaching cert (CELTA/CertTESOL/TEFL 120h+), and 2–3 years ESL/EFL teaching experience. Mandarin proficiency is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• Valid teaching qualification (CELTA/CertTESOL/TEFL 120h+).
• 2–3 years ESL/EFL teaching experience.
• Experience in academic administration or curriculum design preferred.
• Native or near-native English; Mandarin proficiency a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee English language course delivery and quality, align with CEFR/IELTS through experiential learning.
• Review and design course materials to keep lessons engaging and innovative.
• Mentor, recruit, onboard and observe teaching staff to promote student-centered learning.
• Conduct placement tests, monitor progression, provide academic counseling.
• Manage class timetables, teacher allocations, classroom usage, and substitutes.
• Coordinate design, administration, grading of internal tests and certificates.
• Collaborate with admin and operations to align student intake and resources.
