Job summary

City University Malaysia in Sepang, Malaysia seeks a Lecturer in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) to join our academic team. You will deliver lectures, tutorials, and learning activities while contributing to programme development and quality assurance.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in TESL or related field, tertiary teaching experience, and strong English proficiency. Leadership roles (HOP/Programme Leader) are highly preferred to support accreditation and curriculum

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in TESL, TESOL, Applied Linguistics or English Studies from a recognised institution.
• Relevant teaching experience at tertiary/higher education level.
• Strong knowledge of TESL pedagogy, curriculum development and assessment.
• Experience in programme accreditation, curriculum review, and academic quality assurance.
• Prior leadership experience as Head of Programme or Programme Leader is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage or coordinate academic programmes and schedules.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English; strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, and teaching activities in TESL and related areas.
• Develop and update course materials, assessments, papers, and learning resources.
• Assess student performance and provide timely feedback and guidance.
• Supervise and mentor students in their academic and professional development.
• Contribute to curriculum development, programme review, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in accreditation, quality assurance, and compliance activities.
• Support academic administration, including documentation, student matters, and reporting.
• Engage in faculty meetings and institutional activities; contribute to research and development.
