Job summary

Cantilever Sdn Bhd is seeking a Lifting Supervisor to lead lifting activities on site, ensuring compliance with approved lifting plans and site safety rules. You will conduct toolbox talks, inspect lifting gear, supervise crane operators and riggers, and prepare lifting plans and permits to work.

The role requires a minimum two-day Lifting Supervisor course (DOSH/CIDB) and at least three years’ experience as Signalman and Rigger, with ISO-certified contracting exposure.

Qualifications

• Completed a minimum two days course for Lifting Supervisor conducted by a training provider registered with DOSH and CIDB.
• Minimum three years relevant working experience as Signalman and Rigger.

Responsibilities

• Lead toolbox talks on lifting activities and update ACC for client and main contractor review and approval.
• Inspect all lifting gears, cranes and accessories to verify valid inspection tags and safe working conditions prior to use.
• Inspect work areas to ensure ground conditions, access, overhead obstructions, and exclusion zones are suitable for lifting operations.
• Ensure all crane operators complete and submit their Daily Crane Inspection checklist in ACC before commencing lifting operations, and verify that reported defects are addressed.
• Supervise all lifting activities strictly following approved lifting plans and site safety rules, including late night works such as concreting and rebar installation.
• Prepare ad hoc Lifting Plans for daily rental cranes or replacement cranes, and obtain new Permits to Work accordingly.
• Fully supervise and manage all riggers and signalmen, ensuring compliance with PPE requirements and maintaining safe work practices.
• Prepare Permits to Work based on Lifting Plans and update in ACC every 3 days.
• Prepare separate Lifting Plans for each crane operating on site monthly.
• Verify that all cranes, lifting appliances, and lifting accessories have valid inspection and certification records.
• Audit compliance with approved Lifting Plans and Permit to Work requirements.
• Ensure the register of lifting equipment, lifting accessories, and operators is current and up to date.
• Verify that defective or damaged lifting equipment has been removed from service, tagged, and reported for repair or disposal.
• Review crane maintenance schedules and coordinate with equipment owners or maintenance teams to ensure preventive maintenance is completed.
• Participate in monthly HSE inspections and meetings to discuss lifting safety performance and improvement opportunities.
• Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions arising from audits, inspections, incidents, or near misses.
