Job summary

SHB Malaysia Automotive Appliance Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Cost Accountant to manage manufacturing cost accounting, cost calculation, inventory reconciliation, and cost analysis.

You will perform month-end closing, financial reporting, and collaborate with Finance, Production, and Warehouse to ensure accurate cost data and effective cost control. The role offers exposure to international clients and projects within a global automotive manufacturing environment, with opportunities for career growth

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant Cost Accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, material consumption, cost allocation, and cost analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems, with strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Good communication skills in Mandarin, English, and/or Bahasa Malaysia, with ability to coordinate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Cost Accounting & Calculation – Collect, verify, and analyze cost data, including material consumption, labor costs, standard rates, and overheads, and perform monthly product cost calculations.
• Cost Analysis & Reporting – Prepare monthly cost reports, cost variance analysis, product cost analysis, revenue-to-cost analysis, and monitor material consumption, scrap and other cost indicators.
• Inventory Reconciliation & Stocktaking – Reconcile material receiving, issuing, and inventory records with warehouse data, conduct periodic stock checks, and support inventory counts.
• Month-End Closing & Audit Support – Review vouchers and classifications, perform monthly cost closing, support financial reporting, and prepare documents for audits.
• Cost Control & Coordination – Work with Production, Warehouse, Finance and other departments to improve cost data accuracy and control.

As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for manufacturing cost accounting, cost calculation, inventory reconciliation, cost analysis, month-end closing, and financial reporting. You will work closely with the Finance, Production, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure accurate cost information and effective cost control.

What You'll Be Doing

• Cost Accounting & Calculation - Collect, verify, and analyze cost data, including material consumption, labor costs, standard rates, and manufacturing overheads, and perform monthly product cost calculations.

• Cost Analysis & Reporting - Prepare monthly cost reports, cost variance analysis, product cost analysis, revenue-to-cost analysis, and monitor material consumption, scrap, and other cost-related indicators.

• Inventory Reconciliation & Stocktaking - Reconcile material receiving, issuing, and inventory records with warehouse data, conduct periodic stock checks, and support semi-annual and annual physical inventory counts.

• Month-End Closing & Audit Support - Review accounting vouchers and account classifications, perform monthly cost closing, support financial reporting, and prepare relevant documents for internal and external audits.

• Cost Control & Coordination - Work closely with Production, Warehouse, Finance, and other departments to ensure accurate operational data, improve cost accounting processes, and support effective cost control.

Requirements - Must-Have

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum 2 years of relevant Cost Accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, material consumption, cost allocation, and cost analysis

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems, with strong analytical and numerical skills

• Good communication skills in Mandarin, English, and/or Bahasa Malaysia, with the ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with different departments
