Job summary

SHB Malaysia Automotive Appliance Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a qualified Cost Accountant to oversee manufacturing cost accounting, cost calculation, and monthly cost reporting.

You will collaborate with Finance, Production, and Warehouse to ensure accurate cost data and strong cost controls. The role involves inventory reconciliation, month-end closing, and support for audits, with opportunities for professional growth within a global automotive manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant Cost Accounting experience, manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, material consumption, cost allocation and cost analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Good communication skills in Mandarin, English, and/or Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Cost Accounting & Calculation – collect, verify, and analyze cost data and perform monthly product cost calculations.
• Cost Analysis & Reporting – prepare monthly cost reports, cost variance and product cost analyses.
• Inventory Reconciliation & Stocktaking – reconcile material records with warehouse data and support cycle counts.
• Month-End Closing & Audit Support – review vouchers, perform cost closing, assist audits.
• Cost Control & Coordination – collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Finance to improve cost data accuracy.

SHB Malaysia Automotive Appliance Sdn. Bhd. is part of a global group headquartered in China, specializing in the design and manufacture of automotive car seat motors and wiper systems for leading car manufacturers worldwide.

As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for manufacturing cost accounting, cost calculation, inventory reconciliation, cost analysis, month-end closing, and financial reporting. You will work closely with the Finance, Production, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure accurate cost information and effective cost control.

What You’ll Be Doing

Cost Accounting & Calculation – Collect, verify, and analyze cost data, including material consumption, labor costs, standard rates, and manufacturing overheads, and perform monthly product cost calculations.

Cost Analysis & Reporting – Prepare monthly cost reports, cost variance analysis, product cost analysis, revenue-to-cost analysis, and monitor material consumption, scrap, and other cost-related indicators.

Inventory Reconciliation & Stocktaking – Reconcile material receiving, issuing, and inventory records with warehouse data, conduct periodic stock checks, and support semi-annual and annual physical inventory counts.

Month-End Closing & Audit Support – Review accounting vouchers and account classifications, perform monthly cost closing, support financial reporting, and prepare relevant documents for internal and external audits.

Cost Control & Coordination – Work closely with Production, Warehouse, Finance, and other departments to ensure accurate operational data, improve cost accounting processes, and support effective cost control.

Requirements – Must-Have

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Minimum 2 years of relevant Cost Accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, material consumption, cost allocation, and cost analysis

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems, with strong analytical and numerical skills

Good communication skills in Mandarin, English, and/or Bahasa Malaysia, with the ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with different departments
