Job summary

Spcuisinehomefood is seeking a kitchen cook to prepare and cook dishes according to Tiga Roda Cafe recipes, maintain quality, and coordinate with front-of-house staff. You will handle wok cooking, including fried noodles and fried rice, and ensure consistent taste and portion size.

Responsibilities include reading orders, stocking ingredients, and maintaining cleanliness of the wok station while following food safety procedures.

• Read and follow kitchen orders accurately and prepare dishes in the correct sequence.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to avoid delays and ensure timely service.

• Prepare and cook food according to Tiga Roda Cafe recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Handle wok cooking confidently, including fried noodles, fried rice and other made-to-order dishes.
• Prepare dishes such as mee goreng, nasi goreng, bihun, kuey teow, curry mee, mee rebus, soups and set meals according to the assigned station.
• Ensure food is cooked consistently in taste, quality and portion for every order.
• Cook orders efficiently, especially during lunch and dinner peak periods.
• Read and follow kitchen orders accurately and prepare dishes in the correct sequence.
• Coordinate with the other cook, kitchen helpers and service team to avoid unnecessary delays.
• Carry out daily food preparation such as cutting vegetables, portioning chicken, preparing sauces, pastes and other ingredients.
• Check ingredient availability before service and inform the person in charge when stock is running low.
• Store raw materials and prepared food properly, following FIFO practices.
• Maintain cleanliness of the wok station, stove, preparation area, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Follow proper food hygiene and food-safety procedures at all times.
• Minimise food wastage, over-portioning and unnecessary use of ingredients.
• Ensure cooked food is properly plated and complete before being sent to customers.
• Assist with receiving and checking kitchen supplies when required.
• Carry out opening and closing duties for the kitchen.
• Work together professionally with all kitchen and front-of-house staff.
• Perform other reasonable kitchen-related duties assigned by management.
