Job summary

• Prepare Bills of Quantities from design drawings for cost control.

• Suggest budget-friendly materials and FF&E options with designers.
• Manage contractor bidding and prepare cost comparisons.
• Review variation orders and progress payment claims to prevent overruns.

About the role

We are seeking a precision-driven Quantity Surveyor to join our consulting team. In this role, you will act as the financial gatekeeper of our design projects, ensuring our creative visions align perfectly with our clients' investment budgets through precise cost planning and strict tender management. As our Consultant Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the cost management, budget planning, and tendering processes from a consultancy perspective, operating closely with our internal interior design teams.

Key responsibilities

Conduct precise material take-offs from design drawings and create comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BQ) to align creative design concepts with the client's financial limits

Analyze detailed ID drawings (including reflected ceiling plans, custom joinery, and specialized finishes) to formulate accurate budget estimates

Work closely with interior designers to propose budget-friendly alternative materials and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment) without disrupting design aesthetics

Run the contractor bidding process on behalf of the client, build cost-comparison matrices, and deliver neutral, data-driven contractor selection recommendations

Audit, negotiate, and validate variation orders (VOs) or progress payment claims submitted by external contractors to prevent cost overruns

Protect the client's financial interests from design concept to project final account closure

Manage the consultant-side tendering process and evaluate contractor submissions neutrally
