Job summary

Setia Awan in Malaysia seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor Manager to lead contract administration and cost control across multiple projects. You will oversee pre-tender activities through final account, ensuring compliance with SOP and timely approvals.

The role requires a degree in Quantity Surveying, at least six years in project or property management, and fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in MS Project and AutoCAD is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of managerial experience in project or property management.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Property development experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage all technical and contractual matters for assigned projects from pre-tender to final account.
• Ensure contract management aligns with SOP and gains management approval.
• Control construction costs to minimize variation orders.
• Verify registration of contractors and suppliers.
• Ensure projects are completed on time within budgets and meet quality standards.
• Identify project components via feasibility studies using available resources.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities for projects.
• Ensure monitoring aligns with ISO standards, specs and designs.
• Foster team cohesion and keep the project team aligned with company goals.
• Comply with quality, safety, health and environment standards to meet customer expectations.
• Undertake additional tasks as directed by Management.

Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for all aspects related to technical and contractual matters for all assigned projects. This is including pre tender and tender exercise, post contract and final account. Verify all appointment of construction contractors.
2. Ensuring all contract management is in accordance to the standard operating procedure and to secure management’s approval.
3. Ensuring proper control on construction cost and to avoid any variation orders.
4. Verifying and checking of the registration of construction contractors and suppliers.
5. Ensuring projects are implemented and completed on time within approved budget. Ensuring acceptable quality of product with minimum defects from assigned projects.
6. Identify project components based on feasibility and financial studies whilst utilizing optimal available resources.
7. Ensuring cost saving for projects.
8. Ensuring projects monitoring system is complies fully with ISO standard, specification and design.
9. Ensure a cohesive working synergy, remains on track and in the right frame of mind among the Project Team for the company to grow and move forward as one entity.
10. Accountable for the implementation and compliance to the approved quality, occupational safety, health and environment standards towards meeting customers’ expectations and fulfilling regulatory requirements
11. Undertakes any other tasks and assignments as directed by the Management.

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

1. Candidate must possess at least Diploma, Advanced/ Higher/ Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, or any technical degree related to property development.
2. At least 6 year(s) of related working experience for Managerial position preferably in project or property management/industry.
3. Candidate with experience in property developer/ real estate is an advantage for this position.
4. Ability to function as an effective team member where he or she can rapidly adapt to the corporate culture and be valued as a team member.
5. Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project & AutoCAD).
6. Good Analytical skill in costing and resourceful.
7. Meticulous and good knowledge in project costing and contract administration.
8. Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
9. Independent and able to meet tight deadlines.
