Job summary

YS JAYA CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is seeking a procurement professional to manage material pricing, tender documents, budgets and supplier relationships for construction projects. The role involves coordination with subcontractors, on-site budgeting, and ensuring timely payments to vendors.

The successful candidate will source materials, track changes to designs, and enforce procurement policies while traveling to multiple sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project
• Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
• Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly
• Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project
• Measure and value the work done on site and prepare claims
• Select and/or source construction materials
• Timely payment to subcontractors, vendors, suppliers etc.
• Preparing budgets and other documents
• Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required
• Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with clients
• Traveling from the office to various sites as required
• Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies
• Following and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures
• Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records
• Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
• Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts
• Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers
