Job summary

A leading beverage company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to lead the Manufacturing Operating System initiatives. The role focuses on achieving zero safety accidents, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering significant cost savings while engaging plant associates in development activities. Candidates should have a Master’s degree in engineering and at least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferring those familiar with Lean and 6Sigma methodologies. This position requires strong leadership and coaching skills, alongside an ability to drive a culture of Continuous Improvement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering (or related field) with 6Sigma certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG.
• Proven knowledge of TPM, Lean, and 6Sigma methodologies.
• Deep knowledge of TPM, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience in international/multi-cultural settings and cross-functional collaboration.
• Structured, driven, energetic, with excellent communication and people skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Continuous Improvement Manager delivers the key plant results (Compelling Business Need - CBN), such as zero safety accidents, zero quality (losses), cost savings, efficiency improvement, 100% Customer Service Level and 100% engagement using the Manufacturing Operating System - MOS program as an enabler. The role is responsible for developing and delivering the Manufacturing Operating System - MOS roadmap for the plant, building on the standard Manufacturing Operating System - MOS program.

Development of Manufacturing Operating System and functional capabilities of plant associates by building up the approach in cooperation with Human Resources and following JDE Learning & Development approach

High personal development of some Leadership Capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY ACTIVITIES:

Leadership:

• Leads and role models output of Manufacturing Operating System - MOS supporting roll out and further development with hands approach by leading the Fundamental Pillar
• Delivers excellent results within the area through engaged leadership and coaching. Drives a culture of engagement and develops capabilities
• Strong focus on people development, training, coaching and consistently improve Continuous Improvement capabilities and engagement in the plant with hands-on mentality
• Works closely with the Global Pillar to ensure Manufacturing Operating System development and implementation in a standard way
• Works effectively with the Management Team of the plant as linking pin ensuring the implementation of the Manufacturing Operating System - MOS program
• Leads a specific loss reduction project (role modeling in Continuous Improvement execution)
• Drives proactive benchmarking with other internal and external Continuous Improvement managers to generate best practice

Delivery & Cost:

• Has a clear understanding and accountability of costs and performance criteria delivering the Annual Operations Plan – AOP to ultimately deliver the Value Creation Plan – VCP
• Develops Manufacturing Operating System - MOS implementation plan to deliver the plant Compelling Business Need (CBN), with clear focus on zero defects, zero losses and a total engagement culture. This plan needs to be consistent with standard JDE Manufacturing Operating System - MOS roadmap
• Implements the standard Manufacturing Operating System - MOS Continuous Improvement program, pillar structure and related capabilities
• Owns daily Operations Performance meetings Structure (OPS), basic problem-solving tools (Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, Single Minute Exchange of Dies - SMED, 6Sigma) and 5S
• Actively monitors and follows-up on the key performance indicators of the area
• Supports cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives
• Updates relevant information, tracking and reporting systems

QUALIFICATIONS

• Academic Program: Master’s degree in engineering (or related field) and certified with 6Sigma (black belt)
• Experienced: Min 5 year’s experience in manufacturing environment preferred Fast Moving Consumer Goods
• Skillset:
