Job summary

Quasi-S Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a metallurgical specialist to provide technical expertise, conduct research related to engineering and corrosion, and perform failure analysis to establish root causes of equipment failures. You will interpret and evaluate test results, preparing official reports for customers.

Responsibilities include maintaining a full metallurgical laboratory, upholding Good Laboratory Practice, and supporting ISO9001:2015 & ISO/IEC 17025 implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years in related field with failure analysis exposure.
• Experience interpreting test data and preparing reports.

Job description

Provide technical expertise and consulting to all areas in the organization regarding metallurgical issues. Research and consultancy relating to engineering and corrosion issues. Perform failure analysis to establish root cause of equipment or machinery failures. Interpretation and evaluation of test results and prepare official reports to customer.

• Maintain a full functional metallurgical laboratory
• Ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory practice in the laboratory

About you

• Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Material Science or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in the related field
• Experienced and skilled in Failure Analysis techniques including non-destructive testing, PMI, SEM fractography, EDX analysis, metallography, hardness test
• Strong analytical skills - Able to interpret and summarise analysis data into test reports
• Prepared to work in the laboratory and at site
