Job summary

KCJ ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. is seeking a Project Planner/Controller to prepare and maintain project schedules, develop baseline programmes, and monitor progress against schedules.

You will collect updates from sites, identify delays and risks, and assist in recovery and mitigation planning. The role requires 2–3 years of experience in project planning within construction/engineering, proficiency in MS Project or Primavera, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in project planning, project control or a related field.
• Experience in construction, engineering, building or maintenance projects is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or other relevant planning software.
• Good knowledge of project scheduling, progress monitoring and project control.
• Able to analyse project progress and identify delays, risks and potential impacts.
• Good understanding of construction activities and project sequences.
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical, organisational and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks within project deadlines.
• Able to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Willing to work at project sites and travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project schedules based on project scope, duration and requirements.
• Develop baseline programmes, master schedules and detailed work programmes.
• Monitor actual work progress against the approved project schedule.
• Collect and analyse progress updates from project sites and relevant teams.
• Identify delays, schedule risks and potential impacts on project completion.
• Assist in preparing recovery plans and mitigation plans for delayed activities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, look-ahead schedules and project updates.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors, contractors and relevant parties on project progress.
• Monitor key project milestones and critical activities to ensure timely completion.
• Assist in monitoring manpower, materials, equipment and other resources required for project activities.
• Maintain accurate records of project schedules, progress updates and planning documentation.
• Assist in preparing progress presentations and reports for management and project meetings.
• Perform other planning and project control duties assigned by management.
