Job summary

ES CONNECT SDN. BHD. seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead major data centre projects in Malaysia.

You will oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring mobilisation through to handover in compliance with drawings, specs and safety standards. The role requires a Diploma in Construction/Civil Engineering and at least five years in project construction, with advantage for hyperscale data centre exposure and ELV/BMS cabling experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Construction/Civil Engineering or relevant certification required.
• Minimum five years of Project Construction experience in similar roles.
• Experience with hyperscale data centres or ELV/BMS cabling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall construction activities from mobilisation to handover.

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers and Supervisors to resolve issues.

Job description

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Elmina, Sungai Buloh, Selangor.

We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Construction Manager to join our project team and oversee construction activities for major projects, including data centre infrastructure projects for global technology companies.

Key responsibilities

Lead and manage overall construction activities for assigned projects, from mobilisation through to completion and handover.

Plan, coordinate and supervise site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, according to approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.

Oversee the installation and construction of structured cabling, ICT infrastructure, ELV/BMS cabling & systems and other related works, depending on project requirements.

Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors and other stakeholders to resolve technical and construction issues.

Monitor daily site progress and ensure manpower, materials, equipment and resources are properly planned and utilised.

Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved method statements, drawings, specifications, quality requirements and project procedures.

Monitor project schedule and identify potential delays, constraints, interface issues and construction risks, taking timely corrective action.

Attend project meetings and provide regular updates on construction progress, issues, risks and recovery plans.

Job Requirements

Possess at least Diploma in Construction/Civil Engineering or relevant certification.

Minimum five (5) years working experience in Project Construction, in similar position or related working experience.

Experience working on hyperscale or large-scale data centre projects, ELV/BMS cabling & system is an added advantage.

In-depth understanding of construction procedures, technical and project management principles.

Good leadership and interpersonal skill to communicate with other team members.

Understanding of site safety plan and safety activities operation flow.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project is an advantage.

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to communicate in Mandarin would be an added advantage but is not mandatory.

Willing to work extra hours and support on weekend or public holiday if required

Possess own transport.
