Position: Construction Manager – Data Center / Mission Critical (MEP)
Industry: IT & Software Services
Working Day/Hours: Monday – Friday, normal working hours (with flexibility to support site activities as required)
Working Duration: 12 months contract (Renewable based on business needs)
Salary: Basic range from RM20,000 to RM26,000 (Based on location + experience + skills) with statutory contribution + medical insurance + leave entitlement
The Role
We’re hiring a Construction Manager to lead on-the-ground delivery of Data Center Facility Development. You’ll own construction execution across high-density, mission-critical environments—driving safety, quality, schedule certainty, and disciplined delivery across multiple contractors and specialist vendors. This is a hands‑on site leadership role with strong accountability for construction performance, interfaces, and readiness for commissioning and handover.
What you’ll do
Lead site-based construction delivery for AI / high-density data center infrastructure (power, cooling, white space fit‑out, containment, enabling works).
Direct multiple contractors and vendors across MEP, CSA, controls/BMS, fire, security, network readiness, and specialist packages.
Own construction planning and daily execution: site logistics, access control, permits, RAMS, ITP compliance, inspections, and progress verification.
Drive interface management and sequencing across trades to protect critical milestones and remove blockers fast.
Maintain strict quality discipline: NCR management, corrective actions, punch list closure, progressive turnover.
Lead safety performance and culture: toolbox talks, audits, incident management, and corrective/preventative actions.
Drive commissioning readiness with commissioning/ops teams: test readiness, SAT/FAT coordination support, test packs, redlines/as‑builts, and clean turnover.
Produce clear site reporting: daily/weekly progress, constraints, risks/issues, look‑ahead plans, and escalation items.
Support commercial discipline with PM/QS: progress claims validation, variation identification, and scope compliance.
What we’re looking for (must-have)
5 -8 years’ experience leading data center and/or mission‑critical construction delivery.
Proven leadership managing large multi‑trade teams and contractors in high‑pressure environments.
Strong knowledge of MEP/critical systems construction and the construction‑to‑commissioning handover process.
Deep understanding of construction controls: QA/QC, ITPs, inspections, NCRs, change control inputs, punch lists, and closeout.
Strong stakeholder management and communication—able to run site cadence and hold teams accountable.
Competency with reporting and project tools (MS Office) and exposure to systems like Aconex/Procore/ACC/SharePoint.
Nice to have
High-density / AI‑ready infrastructure experience (tight power/cooling constraints, fast‑track fitouts, accelerated commissioning windows).
Formal trade background or engineering qualification; site safety leadership credentials; PMP/Prince2 (helpful but not required).
Why this role
You’ll lead delivery at the frontline of building AI capacity— site execution and setting the standard for safety, quality, and speed in mission‑critical construction.
