Job summary

Setia Awan Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee daily operations of multiple construction projects, ensuring alignment with approved business plans and client timelines.

You will lead internal teams, coordinate with contractors, and monitor milestones to deliver projects on schedule while maintaining quality and safety standards. A strong background in architecture/construction management and budgeting is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of project/construction management experience.
• Strong knowledge of building disciplines and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of assigned projects and realized plans within timelines through effective coordination of project teams and resources.
• Prepare master work program aligned with client completion dates.
• Lead internal teams and coordinate with contractors to follow project plans and schedules.
• Monitor timelines and milestones, prioritizing critical path tasks to meet completion dates.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders including architects, engineers, developers, and consultants for alignment across design, planning and execution.
• Review drawings and specs to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with requirements.
• Attend project meetings, prepare progress reports, and report to client and stakeholders at defined intervals.
• Identify and resolve construction issues and site conflicts promptly to minimize disruption.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients and stakeholders to ensure high satisfaction.
• Involve in project inception, feasibility studies/cost estimates, design development and construction management.
• Participate in tender awards, monitor site progress and resolve disputes; vet tender docs before Procurement & Contract Team.
• Submit, plan and monitor clearance letters from authorities, arrange inspections, and obtain CCC.
• Ensure implementation of quality, safety, health, and environment standards.
• Enforce company Quality Management System policies and procedures.
• Foster cohesive teamwork and keep the project group aligned with company growth goals.
• Undertake any other tasks as directed by Management/Superiors.

Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the daily operations of the projects assigned and ensure that the approved business plans are realized in accordance within the set timelines through effective coordination of multiple projects teams and efficient use of resources.
2. Prepare master work program in align with the completion date stipulated by client.
3. Provide leadership to internal teams and coordinating closely with contractors (NSC/DSC/Direct Trade Contractors) to ensure work is executed according to project plans and schedules.
4. Monitor project timelines and critical milestones, ensuring critical path tasks are given priority to meet stipulated completion date.
5. Coordinate proactively with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, developers, and other consultants, to ensure alignment across all aspects of design, planning, and execution.
6. Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related documentation issued by consultants to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
7. Participate in project meetings, prepare progress reports and provide proper reporting to client, relevant consultants and other project stakeholders at defined intervals.
8. Identify and resolve construction issues, site conflicts, and unforeseen conditions in a timely and efficient manner, minimizing disruption to project progress.
9. Maintain proactive communication with clients and stakeholders, addressing concerns promptly and ensuring a high level of satisfaction throughout the duration of the project.
10. Responsible in project inception, feasibility studies /cost estimate, conceptual design, design development & construction management.
11. Participate in Tender award, monitor site works progress, anticipate and resolve problems and contractual disputes. This is including vetting through all tender documents/budget before forward to Procurement & Contract Team for tender.
12. To submit, plan and monitor status of clearance letter by respective authorities, e.g. arrange site inspection, follow-up on issuance of clearance letter and finally issuance of CCC by local authorities.
13. Accountable for the implementation and compliance to the approved quality, occupational safety, health and environment standards towards meeting customers’ expectations and fulfilling regulatory requirements.
14. Implement all related policies, procedures and work instructions as so defined in the Company’s Quality Management System.
15. Ensure a cohesive working synergy, remains on track and in the right frame of mind among the Project Team for the company to grow and move forward as one entity.
16. Undertakes any other tasks and assignments from time to time as directed by the Management / Superiors.

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

1. Degree in Architecture/Project Management/Construction Management or equivalent.
2. Minimum ten (10) years’ experience with extensive exposure in project and construction management or other relevant experiences.
3. Analytical with planning and organizational skills. Has strong knowledge on construction management, contract administration and budgeting.
4. Well versed in architecture, structural, mechanical and electrical works.
5. Good interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
6. Self-motivated person and able to work independently.
7. Able to liaise with clients, consultants, authorities and contractors.
8. Able to take challenges.
9. Time, cost, quality and safety conscious.
10. Computer literate.
