Job summary

Citaglobal Berhad seeks a senior Project Manager to lead engineering, construction, installation and commissioning of assets through to commercial operation. You will ensure Zero Harm, budget, quality and schedule adherence, and hand over to asset management on COD.

You will manage interfaces across contracts and stakeholders, provide regular progress reporting, and exercise strong leadership within a complex energy project environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or related field.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field is an asset.
• 6–8 years of construction experience with an EPC contractor.
• International project experience, regional preference.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering, construction, installation and commissioning to COD.
• Ensure Zero Harm safety objectives and adherence to budget, schedule and quality.
• Coordinate design, construction and installation contracts from technical, legal and commercial perspectives.
• Manage health and safety policy and project safety objectives.
• Provide reports on progress and issues to the Project Director.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE : Under the supervision of the Project Director, manage the overall engineering, construction, installation and commissioning of the asset until commercial operation date. The objective is to deliver the asset in line with the Zero Harm objective, within the approved budget, required quality and agreed time table. Prepare the hand-over of the asset to the Asset management team at the PPA execution dates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Management of Project Health and Safety

• Actively support and apply the Project Health and Safety policy and procedures to achieve Zero Harm.
• Provide leadership and a personal commitment to the achievement of Project Health and Safety objectives.

Management of Construction

• Plan for construction activities (including related logistics) and ensure constructability reviews of the design are carried out at all stages
• Input construction and logistics constraints into the project execution plan including schedule
• Ensure proper quality control is exercised on all construction activities and checks as carried out as per inspection plans before constructed parts are hidden
• Ensure that worker mobilisation is properly planned including visa and administrative requirements
• Responsible for the delivery of the asset, within the approved budget, schedule, quality and project specifications
• Supervise and coordinate all the design, construction and installation related contracts (the EPCI Contracts, "consent" equipment, local base & accommodation, all related services contracts) from a technical, legal, contractual and commercial perspective.

Management of Risk and Resource Planning

• Ensure that major risks associated with project construction and commissioning are managed
• Ensure that the construction resource plan is in accordance with objectives and project need

Management of Stakeholders and Reporting

• Responsible for the interface and day to day relationship with all the stakeholders in relation with construction and installation in connection with the Consent Manager.
• Provide appropriate reporting to the Project Director as per Project procedures on construction progress and issues
• Ensure interfaces between packages are managed operationally, including synergies for logistics, establishing segregated work areas, and clarifying physical interfaces.

Compliance with Information Security Policies, Procedures and Requirements

• Adhere to any applicable Masdar information security policies and procedures and identify and report security incidents and suspected weaknesses to the appropriate point(s)of contact.
• Protect assets under care (e.g. laptops and other devices) and information/credentials against unauthorized access, sharing, and/or damage/loss, in accordance with the Information Classification and Handling Procedure.
• Clear desks of all sensitive material and log off/ lock workstations at the end of the day and when leaving desk for a prolonged period in accordance with Acceptable Usage Policies.
• Ensure not installing, copying or modifying of any software on Masdar equipment without authorization.

Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE)

• Support Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE) activities, policies and objectives of Masdar and compliance with the laws and regulations of the country where the projects are located.
• This includes participating (when requested) in QHSE audits, office inductions, incident reporting and review of QHSE performances as applicable

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or any other related field
• Master’s degree in a relevant field is an asset

Experience:

• At least 6-8 years of construction experience with an EPC contractor with exposure to global scale and complex energy, technology and utility projects
• Similar and related experience in international projects, preferably in the region is required

Skills:

• Knowledge of renewable energy and traditional energy industry
• Knowledge of utility and international energy business.
• Good understanding of construction sub-contracts, insurance issues, permitting issues, and project scheduling.
• Must show personal commitment to a safe working environment for their employees.
• Proven leadership within complex teams with ability to implement change management strategies.
• Exceptional communication skills and able to work in a dynamic fast paced, diverse environment.
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple on-going projects acumen
