Job summary

AGENSI PEKERJAAN SAM CONSULTANCY SDN BHD in Penang is seeking a Construction Engineer to oversee on-site activities, review engineering drawings, and ensure projects meet design specs, safety standards, and local regulations.

Qualifications

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Construction Engineer role based in Penang, Malaysia. The Construction Engineer will oversee construction activities, review and interpret engineering and construction drawings, and ensure projects are executed according to design specifications, safety standards, and local regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with site supervisors and contractors, conducting inspections and quality checks, monitoring progress and resolving technical issues, and supporting the planning and scheduling of work. The role also involves managing the use of heavy equipment on site, preparing technical reports and documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement in construction methods and site safety. The Construction Engineer will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards in Malaysia.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to work independently on-site.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering or construction software (e.g., CAD, project management tools) is an advantage.
• Previous experience in construction projects, particularly infrastructure or building works, will be considered an asset.
