Job summary

Leighton Asia is seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to support the commercial planning and financial performance of major infrastructure projects. The role requires a strong background in quantity surveying and cost control, with experience in managing client and supplier commercial matters, contract administration, and risk assessment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
8–10 years of commercial or quantity surveying experience on large construction projects.
Strong knowledge of cost control, contract administration, risk management, and cash flow monitoring.
Experience in managing client, subcontractor, and supplier commercial matters.
Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Support commercial planning and monitoring of project costs, budgets, and financial performance.
Identify, evaluate, and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitor project cash flow, including client payments and subcontractor/supplier obligations.
Assist in commercial negotiations with clients and manage contractual variations and notices.
Oversee subcontractor and supplier procurement, contract administration, and performance monitoring.
