Job summary

UST, a leading electronics company in Malaysia, seeks a Compliance Manager to oversee regulatory compliance programs and drive continuous improvement across internal controls. You will collaborate with legal, procurement, HR and quality teams to ensure adherence to evolving standards and policies.

The role focuses on audits, risk assessment, and timely communication of compliance declarations to customers and regulators, with a strong emphasis on practical, proactive risk management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a compliance manager
• In-depth knowledge of the electronic industry’s standards and regulations
• Excellent communication skills, reporting and record keeping
• Methodical, diligent and self motivated
• An analytical mind able to understand the complexities of both internal procedures and external regulations

Responsibilities

• Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
• Collaborate with the corporate legal advisor, procurement director, HR and quality departments to monitor enforcement of applicable standards and regulations
• Develop and oversee systems to prevent violations of contractual obligations and internal policies
• Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
• Review procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues
• Draft, modify and recommend improvements to company policies and procedures
• Assess company's new business to identify possible compliance risks
• Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training
• Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate

• Customer CSR Audits including EICC audits with no major findings
• On time responses to customer requests for Reach, RoHS, Conflict Minerals and other compliance declarations
• Non compliances in internal regulatory compliance audits closed within 1 month
