Job summary

Flextronics - The Flex Company in Malaysia (Perai, Penang) is seeking a Commodity Analyst Indirect to support RFQ processes, analyze spend data, and coordinate with suppliers. The role focuses on indirect procurement within a manufacturing environment and collaboration with operations, engineering, and finance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and 3-5+ years in procurement, with strong Excel and ERP skills to drive cost savings and inventory optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or materials planning.
• Experience in data analysis, RFQ handling, and supplier coordination.
• Knowledge of indirect procurement or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills (cost analysis, pricing comparison).
• Proficiency in Excel and procurement/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Support RFQ process, price analysis, and supplier selection for indirect spend categories.
• Conduct data analysis on spend, pricing trends, and cost drivers.
• Assist in negotiations and contract execution with selected suppliers.
• Maintain and monitor supplier performance and delivery compliance.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements.
• Support cost savings, cost avoidance, and inventory optimization initiatives.
• Analyze and report commodity risks, market trends, and sourcing opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies and processes.
