Job summary

Flextronics Technology (Penang) Sdn Bhd in Penang's Perai region seeks a Commodity Manager Indirect to lead sourcing strategy, supplier management, and cost optimization across indirect spend categories.

You will develop category strategies for indirect spend (MRO, services, CapEx), drive cost savings, manage supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with operations, finance, HR, and EHS to enable business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field required; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of procurement/sourcing experience, preferably in indirect categories.
• Experience in multi-site or regional supplier management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for indirect spend (e.g., MRO, services, CapEx support).
• Drive cost savings, demand management, and supplier consolidation initiatives.
• Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance management (KPIs/QBRs).
• Partner with operations, engineering, finance, HR, and EHS to support business needs.
• Ensure procurement compliance and governance (e.g., No PO No Service).
• Monitor market trends and manage supply risks and continuity plans.
• Track and report savings, KPIs, and supplier performance metrics.
• Lead and develop procurement team capability across sites.

What a typical day looks like:

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field (MBA preferred)

10+ years of procurement/sourcing experience, preferably in indirect categories

Experience in multi-site or regional supplier management

Strong track record in cost reduction, negotiation, and stakeholder management
