Job summary

Flex is a global manufacturing partner seeking a Commodity Analyst Indirect to support spend analysis, RFQ handling, and supplier coordination for our Perai, Penang site.

You will analyze spend data, contribute to negotiations, and monitor supplier performance while aligning with procurement policies and cost-saving initiatives. This role is based on site in Penang, with collaboration across operations, engineering, and finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5+ years in procurement, sourcing, or materials planning.
• Experience in data analysis, RFQ handling, and supplier coordination.
• Indirect procurement knowledge or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills (cost analysis, pricing comparison).
• Proficiency in Excel and procurement/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Support RFQ process, price analysis, and supplier selection for indirect spend categories.
• Conduct data analysis on spend, pricing trends, and cost drivers.
• Assist in negotiations and contract execution with selected suppliers.
• Maintain and monitor supplier performance and delivery compliance.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (operations, engineering, finance) to clarify requirements.
• Support cost savings, cost avoidance, and inventory optimization initiatives.
• Analyze and report commodity risks, market trends, and sourcing opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies and processes.

What a typical day looks like:
