Job summary

Oriental Coffee International Sdn Bhd (Retail) is seeking a kitchen assistant in Kuala Lumpur to master basic cooking methods, prepare fresh ingredients, and maintain proper storage and cleanliness. You will follow menu/SOPs, support the Head Chef, and ensure safety and hygiene standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires SPM/ Diploma and at least 1 year in F&B, with weekend/holiday shifts and strong teamwork. Competitive perks accompany the position in a reputable brand setting.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least SPM/Diploma in related field.
• At least 1 year experience in same job role in F&B industry.
• Good team player able to work independently.
• Able to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts.
• Be able to follow directions from the Head chef and be consistent with the food preparation.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering top-quality dishes.
• Adaptability and the ability to handle a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Master all basic cooking methods like cutting of ingredients.
• Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to menu/sop needed for the station daily.
• Responsible for proper storage of food preparation and storage area.
• Improving your food preparation methods based on feedback.
• To perform overall cleaning duty of the kitchen area, all crockery and equipment.
• To always maintain food safety standard.
• Be familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and observe safety precautions when handling them.
• To undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Head Chef & Chef De Partie.
