Job summary

Oriental Coffee International Sdn Bhd (Retail) is seeking a kitchen assistant to support daily food preparation and station readiness. The role focuses on mastering basic cooking methods, preparing fresh ingredients, and ensuring proper storage and cleanliness throughout the kitchen.

The candidate will uphold food safety standards, work with a team, and follow directions from the Head Chef. Weekend, holiday, and shift work are required in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• SPM/Diploma in related field is required.
• At least 1 year experience in F&B industry.
• Able to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts.
• Follow Head Chef directions and maintain consistency with food preparation.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Master all basic cooking methods like cutting of ingredients.
• Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to menu/sop needed for the station daily.
• Responsible for proper storage of food preparation and storage area.
• Improving your food preparation methods based on feedback.
• To perform overall cleaning duty of the kitchen area, all crockery and equipment.
• To always maintain food safety standard.
• Be familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and observe safety precautions when handling them.
• To undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Head Chef & Chef De Partie.
