Job summary

Goodcoco Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Commis Chef to assist the kitchen team in preparing ingredients, following recipes, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene in a fast-paced cafe setting.

You will work under the Head Chef to develop culinary skills, manage time, ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients, and support delivery receiving while keeping the workstation clean and organized.

Qualifications

• SPM/STPM required or Diploma in Hospitality Management (advantage)
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a busy cafe environment
• Attended Food Handlers Course
• Valid typhoid injection

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients and basic cooking
• Follow recipes and portion control guidelines, ensuring consistency in food quality
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Adhere to food safety and HACCP standards
• Ensure proper storage and labelling of ingredients
• Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas
• Monitor ingredient levels and inform head chef of shortages
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries according to food safety guidelines
• Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations
