Job summary

Siemens Malaysia seeks an experienced finance professional to drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial control across the APAC region. You will oversee cash flow, profitability, and asset management while ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.

The role requires strong Excel skills and hands-on experience with SAP and Power BI, plus the ability to partner with sales, project, and legal teams across different countries and time zones. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Minimum three years in commercial project management, financial controlling, or related role.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis experience.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with SAP and Power BI.
• APAC markets awareness and ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, gross profit, asset management, invoicing, and other financial activities for APAC.
• Manage the commercial aspects of projects across their lifecycle with accurate data and timely reporting.
• Evaluate customer requirements, assess commercial and legal feasibility, and review contract terms and financing arrangements.
• Coordinate planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to translate performance and market trends into actionable recommendations for leadership.
• Ensure month-end close, P&L and balance-sheet reporting, internal controls, audit support, and compliance across APAC markets.
• Collaborate with sales, project, finance, legal, and operations to improve cost transparency and reporting through automation and dashboards.

You’ll make a difference by

• Manage commercial and financial performance: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, gross profit, asset management, invoicing, and other financial activities to support sustainable business performance across the APAC region.
• Drive effective project commercial management: Manage the commercial aspects of projects throughout their full lifecycle, ensuring accurate financial data, timely reporting, and compliance with contractual obligations.
• Support sales and contract development: Evaluate customer requirements, assess commercial and legal feasibility, and review contract terms, securities, guarantees, bonds, and financing arrangements.
• Lead planning and performance analysis: Coordinate financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, translating business performance and market trends into actionable recommendations for leadership.
• Strengthen reporting, controls, and compliance: Ensure accurate month-end closing, profit and loss and balance-sheet reporting, internal controls, audit support, and compliance with applicable corporate and local accounting requirements across APAC markets.
• Improve regional processes and collaboration: Partner with sales, project, finance, legal, and operational teams across APAC to manage risks, align financial targets, improve cost transparency, and enhance reporting through automation and dashboards.

Your defining qualities

• Relevant academic qualification: A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Commercial and controlling experience: At least three years of relevant experience in commercial project management, financial controlling, business finance, or a comparable role, preferably within the infrastructure or industrial sector.
• Strong financial capability: Practical experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis, month-end closing, cost control, and balance-sheet and profit-and-loss management.
• Digital and analytical proficiency: Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with SAP and business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
• APAC business awareness: An understanding of working across APAC markets, including differences in commercial practices, accounting requirements, regulatory environments, currencies, and cross-border contractual arrangements.
• Effective regional collaboration: Strong English communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work proactively across cultures, business functions, countries, and time zones while balancing strategic priorities with attention to detail.
