Job summary

Siemens in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia seeks an experienced Project Manager for Electrical Projects focusing on MV/LV switchgear and related control systems. You will drive end-to-end project delivery, manage stakeholders, and oversee finances and risk across the project lifecycle.

Your role requires at least 5 years of electrical project management experience, strong leadership, and proficiency with SLDs, protection schematics, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of proven project management experience in electrical engineering.
• Familiarity with SLDs, protection schematics, CT calculations, AC/DC load, and heat dissipation calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end management of complex MV/LV switchgear electrical projects and related control/power systems.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle from design to delivery, installation, commissioning and closure.
• Take ownership of project profit and cashflow, meeting revenue targets.
• Coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure clear communication throughout the lifecycle.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks, opportunities and non-conformances.
• Prepare and present all project reports, schedules, costing sheets, and technical documents for approval.
• Monitor deliverables to meet quality standards and site safety requirements.
• Report to Head of Project Management and be flexible for local/global travel and extended hours.

You’ll make a difference by:

• Lead Electrical Projects: Drive end-to-end management of complex electrical projects, primarily focusing on Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) switchgears, including associated control and power systems.
• Oversee Project Lifecycle: Provide comprehensive oversight and review of all project stages, from design and supply to delivery, installation, commissioning, and final closure.
• Ensure Financial Performance: Take full responsibility for project profit and loss, consistently meeting revenue targets and managing cashflow effectively.
• Manage Stakeholders & Communication: Coordinate effectively with all project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Proactive Risk & Opportunity Management: Identify, assess, and manage project risks and opportunities, including addressing non-conformance performance to safeguard project success.
• Deliver Comprehensive Reporting & Documentation: Prepare, submit, and present all required project reports, schedules, costing sheets, technical documents, and drawings for approval.
• Uphold Quality & Safety Standards: Monitor and ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest quality standards and strictly adhere to site safety requirements.
• Strategic Contribution & Flexibility: Report to the Head of Project Management, contribute to strategic discussions, and maintain flexibility for travel (local/global) and extended hours as business needs dictate.

Your Defining Qualities:

• Educational Background: Possessing a Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Extensive Project Management Experience: A minimum of 5 years and above of proven experience in project management, specifically within the electrical engineering domain.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Familiarity with Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLD), protection schematics drawings, CT calculations, ACDC load, and heat dissipation calculations, among others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD is an added advantage.
• Leadership & Communication: Demonstrating strong leadership capabilities with excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: A proven ability to make sound decisions under pressure and resolve complex technical and project-related challenges.
• Adaptability: The flexibility to adapt to varying business requirements, including travel and extended working hours when necessary.
