Job summary

Private Advertiser in Bayan Lepas, Penang, seeks a capable CNC Programmer/Lead to develop, edit, and optimise CNC programs using CAM software. The role involves setting up machines, running tests, and ensuring quality parts while guiding a team of machinists.

You will plan sequences, simulate operations, optimise cutting parameters, and coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, and maintenance to meet tight deadlines. Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field).
• 1–2 years of CNC setting and programming experience.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia for communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Fast learner with leadership capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, cutters, and fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and optimise CNC programs using CAM software and interpret CAD drawings.

Job description

Develop, edit, and optimise CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, NX); interpret CAD drawings and optimise toolpaths

Set up machines, conduct test runs, and ensure accurate machining results within quality specifications

Plan machining sequences, conduct simulations, and optimise feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters for efficiency

Lead and supervise CNC machinists and production staff; train team members on machine operation, programming, and safety

Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust programs when needed, and coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, and maintenance teams

Plan and oversee daily production activities, manage job scheduling, manpower, and machine usage to meet deadlines

Maintain documentation, SOPs, production reports, and records of programs, setups, and parameters

Must-Have

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field)
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in CNC setting and programming
• Language: Spoken and written proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders.
• Fast learner with leadership skills
• Strong technical knowledge of machining processes, tools, cutters, and fixtures

Nice-to-Have

• Proficiency in Mandarin to liaise with diverse clients and stakeholders
